MINSK, 23 December (BelTA) – Belarus and Sudan are outlining ways to develop political, economic and humanitarian cooperation, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA after the working trip of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Sudan with concurrent accreditation Sergei Rachkov to Sudan.
Sergei Rachkov held a number of meetings in Sudan, including with State Minister for Foreign Affairs Ibrahim Ghandour. The parties discussed the prospects for intensifying the Belarusian-Sudanese political dialogue and the improvement of the legal framework of the bilateral cooperation, expansion of cooperation between Belarus and Sudan in international organizations.
At the meeting with Speaker of the National Assembly of Sudan Ibrahim Omer the parties discussed the development of the Belarusian-Sudanese inert-parliamentary relations and the participation of MPs of the two countries in the development of cooperation between Belarus and Sudan, including in education, culture and healthcare.
Sergei Rachkov also met with Minister of Petroleum and Gas of Sudan, co-chairman of the Belarusian-Sudanese Commission for Cooperation Mohamed Awad. “The parties reviewed the implementation of the Commission’s previously reached decisions and the preparation for the next meeting,” the ministry said. During the working trip to Sudan the Ambassador also discussed the prospects of the Belarusian-Sudanese cooperation in the field of agriculture and agricultural machinery.
