MOSCOW, 4 October (BelTA) - The prospects for intensifying Belarus-Sudan dialogue at the highest level were discussed in a meeting between Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Igor Petrishenko and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sudan to Russia and concurrently to Belarus Nadir Babiker in Moscow on 4 October, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian diplomatic mission.
“The parties had a meaningful exchange of views on the main areas of the development of bilateral relations in economy, science and humanitarian affairs,” the press service noted.
The parties discussed further interaction in the format of the joint Belarusian-Sudanese commission for cooperation, ministerial consultations, contacts between business communities and the chambers of commerce of the two countries. Special attention was given to the ways of bolstering trade and economic ties in the field of agricultural engineering, agriculture, medical and educational services, and to the development of the legal framework of the bilateral relations.
Diplomatic relations between Belarus and Sudan were established on 15 July 1999. The bilateral trade amounted to $41.4 million in 2015.
