Belarus, Sudan discuss implementation of mutual projects

Photo by the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of BelarusMINSK, 16 November (BelTA) – The visit of the Belarusian parliamentary delegation led by Chairman of the House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko to Sudan completed with a meeting with Sudan's President Omar al-Bashir, BelTA learned from the press service of the parliament.

The parties discussed key issues of bilateral relations with an emphasis on the implementation of mutually beneficial projects in the light of the results of the talks of the presidents of Belarus and Sudan in Khartoum in January 2017. The sides talked over cooperation in industry, agriculture, and the development of natural resources.

The parties praised a high level of political relations, including ties between the parliaments as bridges uniting friendly countries. The sides emphasized the importance of the parliamentary channel of interaction for developing recommendations and informing the leaders of the two countries on improving cooperation.

The president of Sudan praised the role of MPs in promoting trade, economic, humanitarian ties and business contacts. The parties stressed the importance of parliamentary interaction for monitoring the status and development of the legal framework of the relations, and added that the documents (contracts) signed during the visit would contribute to the overall efforts of developing contacts in various fields.

Omar al-Bashir and Vladimir Andreichenko considered further steps in continuing active political dialogue and implementing current trade and economic agreements.
