Belarus, Slovakia discuss prospects of cooperation between economic entities

MINSK, 9 November (BelTA) - The State Control Committee of Belarus and the Supreme Audit Office of Slovakia discussed the prospects of joint work between the Slovak and Belarusian economic entities, Chairman of the Belarusian State Control Committee Leonid Anfimov told the media after a working meeting with the Slovak delegation, BelTA has learned.

Representatives of the Supreme Audit Office of the Slovak Republic paid a visit to Minsk to get familiar with the activities of the State Control Committee, its constituent departments and to discuss the promising areas of joint activity, including the conduct of joint and parallel audits. “We also discussed the prospects of joint work between the Slovak and Belarusian economic entities within the framework of the agreements reached during the visit of the Belarusian prime minister to Slovakia and the return visit the Slovak prime minister. So far we have not yet monitored the implementation of this agreement, but at the request of the Slovak ambassador to Belarus we will probably have to intervene and encourage economic entities to fulfill the agreement in full volume,” Leonid Anfimov said.

Cooperation between the supreme audit institutions (SAIs) of Slovakia and Belarus has been gaining momentum. In 2016, a delegation of the Supreme Audit Office of Slovakia attended, at the invitation of the Belarusian party, in a meeting of the CIS Council of SAIs heads in Minsk. In March this year a delegation of the Belarusian State Control Committee paid a return visit to Slovakia, and in September Belarus attended a meeting of the heads of the Supreme Audit Institutions of the Visegrad Group. The supreme audit institutions of the two countries signed a cooperation agreement in 2017.
