Belarus, SCO discuss political, cultural and humanitarian cooperation

MINSK, 3 February (BelTA) - The SCO Secretariat in Beijing hosted a meeting between Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to China Yuri Senko and Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Zhang Ming, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission in China.

"The parties discussed the interaction between Belarus and the SCO. Belarus has the status of an observer state in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Consideration was also given to the ways of advancing cooperation in the political, economic, cultural and humanitarian areas," the embassy said in a statement.

Mutual commitment to a permanent dialogue between the SCO Secretariat and the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Сhina was confirmed.

Special consideration was given to the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing where the national teams of the "Shanghai family" will be represented.
