Belarus-Russia oil and gas agreements honored in full

MOSCOW, 27 April (BelTA) – The oil and gas agreements reached between Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko and Russian President Vladimir Putin during the meeting in St. Petersburg on 3 April are fully honored, Belarus Vice Premier Vladimir Semashko told the media on 27 April, BelTA has learned.

“The agreements are met in full,” said the vice premier.

In his words, the two presidents instructed the governments to regulate the gas and oil disputes within ten days. On 13 April the two states signed the necessary documents. According to Vladimir Semashko, seven documents were signed, including three intergovernmental agreements, contracts with Gazprom and others.

“What do these documents mean? Firstly, we have restored the oil supply back to 24 million tonnes per year. In terms of oil our relations have been settled until 2024 inclusively. We have been relieved from the obligation, which was disadvantageous for us, to deliver 1 million tonnes of high-octane fuel to Russia. Oil will be supplied to Belarus by the pipeline. This is beneficial because rail deliveries are unprofitable,” Vladimir Semashko said.

In terms of gas we have all issues settled until 2019 inclusively, the vice premier noted.
