Belarus-Russia defense technology cooperation discussed

MOSCOW, 16 August (BelTA) – Chairman of the State Authority for Military Industry of Belarus Dmitry Pantus and State Secretary of the Union State of Belarus and Russia Dmitry Mezentsev discussed the advancement of Belarus-Russia defense technology cooperation on the sidelines of the international defense technology forum Army 2022 in Patriot Park located near Moscow, BelTA learned from the website of the Standing Committee of the Union State of Belarus and Russia.

Dmitry Mezentsev went to see a number of stands of major manufacturers of weapons and military hardware. Those included a joint stand of the Republic of Belarus. The official was made familiar with products of OAO 558 Aircraft Repair Plant, OAO MZKT, OAO Agat – Control Systems, and other Belarusian defense companies. Negotiations between Dmitry Mezentsev and Chairman of the State Authority for Military Industry of Belarus Dmitry Pantus took place at the Belarusian joint stand. The sides discussed ways and prospects of advancement of Belarus-Russia cooperation.

While in the pavilion of the Russian space agency Roscosmos, Dmitry Mezentsev was made familiar with space industry achievements and discussed preparations for the forthcoming expert and media forum “Industrial and technological cooperation of Russia and Belarus. Joint space industry projects”, which is scheduled for 28 September.

The international defense technology forum Army 2022 is running from 15 August through 21 August. It is one of the world’s largest congress and expo events in the area of defense and security. The Russian Defense Ministry is the traditional organizer. This year’s forum gathered military delegations from 72 countries.
