Belarus’ representative to UN elected UNECE chairperson

MINSK, 10 April (BelTA) – Yuri Ambrazevich, Belarus’ Permanent Representative to the United Nations and other international organizations in Geneva, has been elected Chairperson of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), BelTA learned from the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Yuri Ambrazevich was unanimously elected Chairperson of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe. “It is for the first time that the Belarusian representative has been elected head of the main executive body of the UN international economic organization,” the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
