Belarus’ representative to observe Armenia’s elections as part of CIS IPA mission

MINSK, 5 June (BelTA) - A representative of Belarus will join the group of international observers from the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly to monitor the parliamentary elections that will take place in Armenia on 7 June, the press service of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus told BelTA.

Belarusian parliamentarian Garik Barsamyan has already arrived in Yerevan. During the short-term monitoring mission, the member of the Council of the Republic will assess the preparation for the electoral campaign and the conduct of its final stage. He will visit several polling stations and hold meetings with fellow parliamentarians from different countries.

At the invitation of the Armenian side, senators and deputies from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, as well as officials and experts from the CIS IPA, will observe the voting process.

The mission’s program includes meetings with the leadership of the Central Election Commission, the National Assembly, the Administrative Court, and representatives of political parties participating in the elections.
