MINSK, 9 January (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei met with outgoing Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Syria to Belarus Bassam Abdul Majid on 9 January. Vladimir Makei reaffirmed Belarus’ readiness to help restore the Syrian economy, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.
Belarus’ firm stance in support of Syria’s independence and territorial integrity was reaffirmed during the meeting. Belarus’ readiness to help restore the Syrian economy was reaffirmed, too.
The sides reached an agreement on stepping up the political dialogue between the two countries. Topical aspects of development of Belarusian-Syrian relations in trade, economy, and humanitarian affairs were discussed as well.
Vladimir Makei thanked the Syrian ambassador for vigorous and fruitful work aimed at enhancing Belarus-Syria cooperation.
