MINSK, 7 May (BelTA) – Belarusian head of state Aleksandr Lukashenko signed Decree No.156 to approve the priority areas in scientific, technological and innovative activities in Belarus in 2021-2025, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
The document envisages further development of information, medical, biological, mechanical engineering, and agro-industrial technologies, power industry, construction, rational use of natural resources, security of individuals and society.
Achieving these priorities will enable the country to concentrate resources on the works that are most promising and important for the development of the economy and social sector, effectively coordinate research, development and practical use of scientific and technological solutions. This will help scientific institutions and industrial organizations step up joint efforts and assimilate more new technologies and set up more innovative industries. Competitiveness of knowledge-intensive and high-tech sectors of the national economy is expected to increase as well.
Research programs, scientific and technological programs and Belarus’ state innovative development program for 2021-2025 will be developed in accordance with the approved priority areas.
