Belarus’ Prime Minister off to Russia’s Tatarstan on working visit

MINSK, 15 March (BelTA) – Belarusian Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov has left for Russia’s Tatarstan for a working visit, BelTA has learned.

The visit will last from 15 through 16 March. Andrei Kobyakov will meet with Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov to discuss the results and prospects of bilateral cooperation.

The Belarusian Prime Minister is expected to visit the MTZ-ElAZ trading house in Yelabuga District, the Alabuga Special Economic Zone in Yelabuga, OAO Kamaz, and the Kama Industrial Park Master in Naberezhnye Chelny.

Andrei Kobyakov will also pay a visit to the regional engineering center of medical simulators Eidos in Kazan and the science park for children Kvantorium in Naberezhnye Chelny.

Tatarstan is Belarus’ sixth major trading partner among the regions of Russia. In 2015 the trade between Belarus and Tatarstan totaled $878.4 million, down by 24.8% from 2014. Belarus had a trade deficit of $475.6 million.

Belarus’ major exports to Tatarstan were tractors, truck tractors and spare parts, liquefied gas, cord material for tires, plastic packaging, vacuum pumps and air pumps, lifting and loading equipment, and constructions from ferrous metals. Belarus’ imports from Tatarstan included crude oil, oil products, styrene polymers, propylene, ethylene polymers, remote controls, panels, tires, liquefied gas, and other products.
