Belarus Premier off to Kyrgyzstan on working visit

MINSK, 6 June (BelTA) – Belarusian Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov has left for Kyrgyzstan to attend a meeting of the CIS Heads of Government Council, BelTA has learned.

There are more than ten items on the agenda for the meeting which covers a wide range of cooperation areas. Special attention will be paid to trade and economic cooperation and joint efforts to develop power engineering and healthcare, enhance food security, and implement the innovation cooperation program. The participants will discuss the progress on the implementation of the interstate innovation cooperation program in 2015 and the 2015-2016 action plan for the implementation of this program. Both documents are designed for the period until 2020.

The council is expected to sign a protocol to the CIS free trade zone agreement of 18 October 2011 on rules and procedures to regulate government procurement and preservation of agro and biodiversity. Besides, it will approve the draft strategy Population Health in the CIS Member States.

The CIS heads of government are also expected to ink an agreement on exchange of information about accidents at power plants and about transportation of radioactive sources. A concept for cooperation in chemical industry is another document to be signed at the meeting.
