Belarus praises support from Serbian MPs on international forums

MINSK, 28 November (BelTA) – Belarus feels the support from Serbian MPs on international forums, Speaker of the Council of the Republic of Belarus’ National Assembly Mikhail Myasnikovich said as he met with Veroljub Arsic, Deputy Speaker of Serbia’s National Assembly, head of the Serbian delegation at the session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Central European Initiative (CEI), on 28 November, BelTA informs.

According to Mikhail Myasnikovich, Belarus and Serbia effectively solve economic, political, and interparliamentary issues and hardly have any contradictions on the sidelines of international forums. “We feel the support from Serbian MPs when pressing issues for Belarus are being discussed,” the Belarusian speaker noted.

In his opinion, the successful implementation of the plan of action for 2017-2018 gives a boost to cooperation in different fields. Mikhail Myasnikovich also drew attention to trust-based contacts between the Belarusian and Serbian governments.

“All the dimensions – the parliaments, the business communities, and the governments – are working in close contact in the interest of our economies,” the speaker underlined.

The Serbian delegation is taking part in the Minsk session of the CEI PA, which has gathered representatives of 13 countries. It focuses on digital technologies in the context of geopolitical security. The participants are discussing digital economy development taking into account information security, digital banking technologies, legislative, organizational, and other measures to support the manufacture of IT products, unmanned driving technologies, artificial intelligence, and biotechnologies.

Belarus presides in the Central European Initiative (CEI) in 2017.
