Belarus PM off to Uzbekistan for CIS Heads of Government Council meeting

MINSK, 2 November (BelTA) – Belarus’ Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov is expected to take part in a meeting of the CIS Heads of Government Council in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on 3 November, BelTA has learned.

The agenda of the meeting will include a set of issues related to the development of cooperation of the CIS member states in different areas.

The CIS heads of government plan to hold a free exchange of opinions on the economic cooperation in the CIS and coordinate the date for the next meeting of the CIS Heads of Government Council.

The CIS premiers are expected to consider about 20 draft documents aimed at the development of cooperation in different areas. More than a half of the documents suggested for discussion are related to the economic sector. Among the most important documents is a statement of the CIS heads of government on the consolidation of efforts of the world community for an effective counteraction to international cartels, the decision on the progress made in the implementation of the provisions of the free trade zone agreement of 18 October 2011, the agreement on sharing the information necessary to determine and monitor the customs cost of goods in the CIS member states.

The CIS heads of government will discuss draft agreements on the exchange of information in the CIS in the field of combating terrorism, decisions on the creation and development of the CIS unified air defense system. The participants of the meeting will also consider a number of financial and budgetary issues.

Andrei Kobyakov is expected to meet with the heads of official delegations to discuss bilateral cooperation.
