Representatives of the international and legal department of the Belarusian agency held a working meeting with representative of Pakistan’s embassy in Belarus Adil Nawab. The meeting highlighted the history of the Investigation Committee of Belarus, its role and place in the system of law-enforcement bodies of Belarus. Adil Nawab took note of a high level of cooperation between the two countries.

The parties discussed issues related to the criminal prosecution of Pakistani citizens in Belarus, consular access to Pakistani nationals kept in penitentiaries of Belarus, transfer of Pakistani nationals sentenced in Belarus to Pakistan.

“The sides expressed interest in establishing working contacts between the preliminary investigation agencies of Belarus and Pakistan, further work on the texts of the bilateral agreements on mutual legal assistance, maintenance of efficient and operational cooperation,” the Investigation Committee said.
