Belarus, Oman agree to step up cultural cooperation

MINSK, 20 December (BelTA) - On 20 December, Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov held a meeting with Mona bint Fahad al-Said, Assistant Vice Chancellor of Sultan Qaboos University for International Cooperation and Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees of the National Museum of Oman, as well as Jamal al-Moosawi, Secretary General of the National Museum of Oman, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Foreign Affairs Ministry.

The meeting took place during the Omani delegation’s visit to Belarus to participate in the opening ceremony of an exhibition of traditional Omani silverware, which will run from December 2025 to April 2026 at the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus.

During the talks, the parties emphasized the importance of developing cooperation between Belarus and Oman in culture and education. They discussed in detail the possibility of involving the National Museum of Oman in the project to build a new National Historical Museum of Belarus, in line with the invitation of the Belarusian head of state, as well as the exchange of exhibitions and tours by creative ensembles in 2026-2027.

The parties highlighted the high assessment of the level of dialogue between Belarus and the Sultanate of Oman given by Aleksandr Lukashenko during the second session of the VII Belarusian People’s Congress, as well as the increased attention of the leaders of both countries to strengthening mutual cooperation.
