MINSK, 1 July (BelTA) - Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives Viktor Guminsky met with OSCE Parliamentary Assembly’s Special Representative on Human Trafficking Issues Christopher Smith (United States) during the 23rd annual session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Baku, BelTA learned from the press service of the House of Representatives.
"The U.S. Congressman expressed gratitude to the Belarusian MPs for the support of the draft resolution “Prevention and prosecution of child sex trafficking” that he sponsored,” the press service noted.
The delegation of the National Assembly of Belarus held bilateral meetings with leaders and members of the parliamentary delegations of the OSCE participating states, including the CIS countries, and also Austria, Finland, Iceland, Italy, Lithuania, the Netherlands, the United States, Turkey, Finland, France, Montenegro, and the Czech Republic.
Viktor Guminsky and head of the delegation of Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada in the OSCE PA Oleg Zarubinsky discussed the current situation in Ukraine and ways out of the crisis. Viktor Guminsky and head of the Czech parliamentary delegation Ivana Dobesova discussed bilateral cooperation and interaction in the inter-parliamentary organizations, development of relations with the newly-elected Czech parliament.
