MINSK, 28 February (BelTA) – Belarus is following with concern the growing tensions between Israel and Iran, the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.
“We are following with concern the escalation between Israel and Iran, which has also affected friendly Gulf states. We call on the countries involved in the exchange of strikes to abandon dangerous confrontation and return to resolving all disagreements through political and diplomatic means. We urge Belarusian citizens in the affected countries to strictly follow the requirements of local authorities regarding personal safety, avoid places with large crowds, and refrain from filming the strikes and their aftermath,” the ministry said.
In light of reports about the closure of airspace by countries in the region, we strongly advise citizens of the Republic of Belarus who had planned trips to countries in the region, including transit travel, to check up-to-date information on route changes with airlines and tour operators.
“To ensure personal safety, Belarusian citizens are advised to refrain from travelling to countries in the region affected by the conflict,” the ministry said.
Consular services of Belarus’ foreign missions in Israel, Iran, Qatar and the UAE are providing necessary assistance to citizens affected by the escalation.
