MINSK, 8 October (BelTA) – A Belarusian delegation led by member of the House of Representatives Sergei Klishevich met with representatives of the Labor Party making part of Mexico’s ruling coalition during a visit to Mexico (the United Mexican States), the Belarusian MP told BelTA.
Alberto Anaya, MP of the Chamber of Deputies of the Congress of the United Mexican States, leader of the Labor Party, said that his party supports Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko’s policy aimed at building a multipolar world without the dictate of the United States. Alberto Anaya expressed the need to build mutually beneficial relations between the two countries in social and economic matters.
Alberto Anaya supported the expansion of diplomatic presence in both countries and the opening of the Mexican consulate in Minsk.
In turn, Sergei Klishevich thanked Alberto Anaya for his systemic support of Belarus in the Latin American world, as well as for his personal contribution to the development of bilateral relations between the two states.
The parties also discussed the implementation of a number of joint projects in education, trade and economic cooperation.
“In the conditions of geopolitical transformation that is currently taking place in the world, many states are deciding which picture of the world to support: unipolar, where the law of the strong rules, or multipolar, based on mutual respect for the interests of all countries and mutually beneficial cooperation. Today the international policy of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko is in the vanguard of building a new just world order. Mexico has also made up its mind. It logically supports the construction of a multipolar world. At the same time, its location near the U.S. border influences its more cautious international policy. However, this does not prevent it from building good relations with the countries, which are ideologically close to Mexico,” Sergei Klishevich said. “In these conditions, our active inter-parliamentary and inter-party cooperation is a good basis for the development of good, mutually beneficial long-term relations in various areas of social and economic development of our countries. This is the meaning of a multipolar, fair new world order.”
Attending the meeting were also MPs and senators of the parliament of Mexico.
The Mexican Labor Party won 61 seats in the Chamber of Deputies (lower house of parliament) and seven seats in the Senate of the Congress of the Mexican United States in the recent parliamentary elections.
