MINSK, 20 June (BelTA) – The Belarusian government hopes to bolster trade and economic cooperation with Bosnia and Herzegovina, Belarus Prime Minister Sergei Rumas said as he met with Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milorad Dodik on 20 June, BelTA has learned.
“The Belarusian government hopes that your visit will result in the activation of trade and economic cooperation. Its current level does not correspond to the potential of the two countries,” Sergei Rumas said.
The Belarusian head of government suggested using the potential of the chambers of commerce of the two countries more actively. “We invite Bosnia and Herzegovina to take part in international exhibitions and fairs in our country to learn more about the capabilities of Belarusian companies and show us goods and services which will be interesting for Belarusians,” the prime minister said. Belarus, in turn, is ready to study the Bosnian market and take part in the international exhibition due in Mostar in April 2020.
Bosnia and Herzegovina is one of the European countries where Belarus sells its rock haulers and OTR tires. “As I am informed by colleagues, our equipment has proved well in your mines. I suggest that we move on and take a broader look at the capabilities of the Belarusian industry. We are ready to supply our building, utilities and farming machinery to Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Sergei Rumas added.
Belarus also views cooperation in IT sector as promising. “I suggest compiling a delegation for a visit to the Hi-Tech Park. Belarus has gained considerable progress in the IT industry. I think the experience and products of our companies can be useful for Bosnia and Herzegovina,” the head of government said.
