MINSK, 5 June (BelTA) – Belarus’ Energy Ministry hopes for a constructive dialogue with Russia on cooperation in the gas sector, BelTA learned from the press service of the Energy Ministry.

"The Energy Ministry continues to work with the Russian Ministry of Energy and Gazprom. In early June, Belarus’ Energy Ministry sent a letter to Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller outlining the key issues on the bilateral agenda and proposals for their discussion, in particular on the gas supply terms in 2020 and gas pricing as from 1 January 2021,” the press service noted.

“The letter emphasizes that disagreements on determining the cost of natural gas taking into account its calorific value have arisen between the business entities: Beltopgas production association, OAO Naftan and Gazprom Transgaz Belarus,” the press service informed.

In order to resolve the disagreements, Belarus’ Energy Ministry suggests that Gazprom Transgaz Belarus provide Beltopgas with a methodology for determining the actual monthly calorific value and the metrological confirmation of its suitability in accordance with the legislation of Belarus.

Belarus’ Energy Ministry, for its part, is ready to ensure the expeditious review of this methodology by Beltopgas,” the Energy Ministry press service added.
