Belarus, Latvia in favor of joint efforts to respond to new challenges

MINSK, 20 May (BelTA) - Belarus and Latvia discussed the issues on the international agenda and spoke in favor of joining efforts in the face of new challenges during the ministerial consultations, BelTA learned from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.

The Belarusian delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alena Kupchyna. The Latvian delegation was led by State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Andrejs Pildegovics. “The parties exchanged the views on current issues on the international and regional agenda and agreed on the need to join efforts to respond to new challenges and threats effectively,” the press service said.

The parties discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral relations including the prospects for expanding political, economic, trade and transit cooperation between the two countries, implementing joint investment projects, cooperation in the context of the Eurasian Economic Union, and different aspects of the relations between the Republic of Belarus and the European Union.
