MINSK, 26 June (BelTA) – The foreign ministers of Belarus and Latvia discussed international cooperation in dealing with the the consequences of the pandemic, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.
“Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei had a telephone conversation with his Latvian counterpart Edgars Rinkevics on the initiative of the Latvian side. The ministers discussed the coronavirus response measures in Belarus and Latvia, measures to strengthen international cooperation to overcome the impact of the pandemic,” the press service noted.
At the request of Edgars Rinkevics, the Belarusian foreign minister commented on the current situation around the presidential election campaign in Belarus.
The foreign ministers exchanged views on a number of topical bilateral issues, and the Belarus-EU interaction, including the Eastern Partnership initiative.
The parties agreed to maintain operational contacts.
