Belarus joins Hiroshima, Nagasaki commemorations

MINSK, 6 August (BelTA) – Belarus has participated in international events honoring the victims of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

A Belarusian official attended the memorial ceremony in Japan on 6 August.

“Decades have passed, yet the world still remembers the tragedy, though too often deliberately forgets who pressed the red button. Memory must be honest. Without this, the lessons of history become a mere formality,” the ministry’s press service emphasized.
