Belarus, Iran seek further constructive inter-parliamentary cooperation

MINSK, 28 August (BelTA) – Belarus and Iran are aimed at further constructive inter-parliamentary cooperation. The matter was discussed at a meeting between Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Iran Yuri Lazarchik and Assistant to Speaker of Parliament, Parliamentary Director General for International Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian on 27 August, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Tehran.

The parties hailed the fruitful nature of the inter-parliamentary cooperation between Belarus and Iran, discussed topical issues of bilateral political, trade, economic, and legal cooperation. Hossein Amir-Abdollahian expressed satisfaction with the level of interaction between the legislative bodies of the two states and emphasized Iran’s interest in further constructive cooperation.

Yuri Lazarchik expressed hope for practical results in joint efforts by the profile parliamentary committees with a view to expanding bilateral cooperation for the benefit of the peoples of Belarus and Iran.

At the end of the meeting the Belarusian party handed over to Hossein Amir-Abdollahian a thankful letter from the leadership of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly to Speaker of the Parliament of Iran Ali Larijani in response to the Independence Day greetings of Belarus.
