Belarus, Iran emphasize need for peaceful settlement of Middle East conflict

MINSK, 23 September (BelTA) – Belarus and Iran emphasized that there is no alternative to a peaceful settlement of the Middle East conflict. The matter was discussed during a meeting between Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov and Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs Abbas Araghchi on the sidelines of the 81st UN General Assembly in New York on 22 September, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.

“The parties emphasized that there is no alternative to a peaceful settlement of the conflict in the Middle East. They also discussed prospects for promoting the Eurasian Charter of Diversity and Multipolarity in the 21st Century,” the ministry’s press service said.

The foreign ministers discussed the schedule of upcoming visits and meetings, as well as the agenda for the planned session of the joint trade and economic commission.
