MINSK, 17 June (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maksim Ryzhenkov men with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iran to Belarus Alireza Sanei in Minsk on 16 June. The parties discussed current developments in the bilateral and multilateral agendas, paying particular attention to the current situation related to a new round of escalation between Israel and Iran, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“The minister confirmed that dialogue and negotiations are the only way to resolve any conflict situation. The Belarusian minister of foreign affairs stressed that a military scenario of conflict poses a serious threat to regional and international stability and security, especially in connection with strikes on Iran's nuclear infrastructure, which is under the control of the IAEA,” the ministry said.

The Iranian ambassador, in turn, conveyed Tehran's position on the development of the current situation, expressed concern about the growing number of civilian casualties, and outlined Iran's approaches to resolving the conflict.
