MINSK, 15 April (BelTA) – Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yuri Ambrazevich met with IOM Belarus Chief of Mission Mahym Orazmuhamedova on 14 April, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The parties discussed practical cooperation between Belarus and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) on the issues within the organization's competence.
Yuri Ambrazevich emphasized the significant contribution of the IOM to support Belarus' efforts to resolve the situation of refugees and migrants on the Belarusian-Polish border in 2021. The deputy minister expressed hope for continued interaction with the IOM in the situation with refugees from Ukraine.
Mahym Orazmuhamedova assured of the IOM's willingness to support Belarus within its mandate in resolving migration situations, including emergency situations, and confirmed its readiness to participate in joint efforts to provide humanitarian aid to Ukrainian refugees.
