Belarus, IOM hold talks on countering human trafficking, illegal migration

MINSK, 28 July (BelTA) – The cooperation between Belarus and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) was reviewed on during a meeting between Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Igor Sekreta and IOM Chief of Mission to Belarus Marina Schramm on 28 July, which marked the beginning of her diplomatic mission in the country, BelTA has learned.

The deputy foreign minister briefly outlined the main areas of cooperation between the Belarusian government and the IOM. He described the results achieved so far, as well as outlined the tasks and expected outcomes of further work in each of these areas.

The parties focused on cooperation in combating human trafficking and illegal migration, regulating external labor migration, and securing funding for IOM project activities in Belarus.

Igor Sekreta wished Marina Schramm a highly successful diplomatic mission in Belarus.
