Belarus, International Committee of Red Cross to continue fruitful cooperation

MINSK, 9 December (BelTA) – Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik met with Head of the Regional Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Belarus, Russia and Moldova Ikhtiyar Aslanov, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 

The parties reviewed cooperation between Belarus and the ICRC, including the preparation of a cooperation plan between Belarusian government agencies and the ICRC organizations for 2022.

Sergei Aleinik informed the ICRC representative about Belarus’ handling of the migrant crisis on its western border and about the humanitarian assistance provided through the ICRC.

Ikhtiyar Aslanov welcomed Belarus’ efforts and the work of the Belarus Red Cross. The parties pointed to the high level of understanding and support in resolving humanitarian issues, and reaffirmed their commitment to continue constructive cooperation.
