Belarus' Internal Affairs Ministry open to cooperation with China's colleagues

MINSK, 10 October (BelTA) — The Belarusian Ministry of Internal Affairs is open to cooperation and exchange of practices with Chinese colleagues, Belarusian Minister of Internal Affairs Ivan Kubrakov said at a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Belarus Zhang Wenchuan on 10 October, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Ivan Kubrakov congratulated the ambassador on assuming office and pointed out that Belarus highly values its relations with China. China is one of the world’s major powers pursuing a pragmatic and balanced foreign policy. "Our peoples are bound by friendly ties based on mutual trust and respect. The communication between the Belarusian Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Chinese Ministry of Public Security is based on the same principles. We are open to cooperation. We are committed to sharing best practices in combating drug trafficking, terrorism, extremism, cybercrimes and other types of transnational organized crime," Ivan Kubrakov stressed.

The ambassador thanked the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the openness to cooperation and put forward a number of proposals that would facilitate joint programs in ensuring public security.

The parties discussed a wide range of matters. The meeting is especially important ahead of the visit of a high-ranking delegation of the Chinese Ministry of Public Security to Minsk in the near future.
