Belarus interested in dynamic development of African states

MINSK, 6 June (BelTA) – Belarus is interested in a dynamic development of the African states, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said as he received the credentials from diplomats of foreign states on 6 June, BelTA has learned.

“Belarus is interested in a dynamic development of the African states. I am confident that we have big prospects in expanding cooperation with them,” Alexander Lukashenko stressed.

Receiving the credentials from Ambassador of Zimbabwe to Belarus Mike Nicholas Sango, the Belarusian head of state took note of a high level of political relations with the country. “We have a lot to offer to each other in all the areas and first of all in the trade and economic sector. We will appreciate if the new Ambassador enhances the efficiency of the potential of the bilateral cooperation,” the President added.

Belarus views Ethiopia as an important partner on the African continent. “Preserved friendship since the Soviet Union times, and also similar positions on many international issues confirm the need for further strengthening of all-round relations between Minsk and Addis Ababa,” said the Belarusian leader receiving the credentials from Ethiopia’s Ambassador Grum Abay Teshome.

According to the head of state, Belarus does its best to improve the level of cooperation with Sudan and hopes for the same response. Receiving the credentials from Sudan’s Ambassador Nadir Yousif El-Tayeb Babiker, Alexander Lukashenko praised the recent intensification of contacts between the states.

Receiving the credentials from Guinea’s Ambassador Mohamed Keita and Ambassador of Ghana Kodzo Kpoku Alabo, the President expressed confidence that cooperation with these influential members of the Economic Community of West African States would provide good opportunities to advance Belarusian industrial products and help develop production cooperation.
