Belarus, India discuss bilateral high-level visits

MINSK, 2 September (BelTA) – Belarus and India talked over an exchange of visits at supreme and high levels, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The matters among others were discussed by Belarus’ Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrei Dapkiunas and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Belarus Sangeeta Bahadur on 2 September. The parties shared opinions on the important issues on bilateral and international agenda, discussed the ways to strengthen global and regional security, nuclear non-proliferation and anti-terrorism efforts.

Andrei Dapkiunas drew the attention of the Indian ambassador to the timely and in-demand initiative of the Belarusian president to launch a multilateral dialogue seeking to restore an efficient system of international security and cooperation in the Eurasian-Atlantic region. The Belarusian deputy minister of foreign affairs emphasized the relevance of expanding the framework of considering the issues of international security across the entire Eurasian-Atlantic space.

The Belarusian diplomat stressed as important that a big Indian delegation is taking part in the international high-level conference on countering terrorism through innovative approaches and the use of new and emerging technologies which will be running in Minsk on 3-4 September.

The parties also discussed the possible development of a schedule of bilateral visits at high and supreme levels for 2019-2020, preparations for the next ministerial consultations between Belarus and India, and milestone bilateral trade and investment events.
