MINSK, 10 September (BelTA) - Belarus is in favor of resolving the conflict in Syria through political and diplomatic means, Permanent Representative of Belarus to the United Nations Office Mikhail Khvostov said in Geneva, BelTA learned from the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Belarus.

A Belarusian delegation headed by Mikhail Khvostov is attending the 24th session of the UN Human Rights Council on 9-27 September. “During the discussion with the High Commissioner for Human Rights Mikhail Khvostov emphasized the need for the resolution of the conflict in Syria through negotiations,” the Foreign Ministry said.

The head of the Belarusian delegation welcomed the determined effort of a number of countries to resolve the Syrian conflict by political and diplomatic means and stressed the need for strict adherence to the Charter of the United Nations.
