Belarus, Hungary agree on approaches to develop political dialogue

MINSK, 30 June (BelTA) – Belarus’ Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alena Kupchyna and Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto agreed on the approaches to enhance bilateral political dialogue in a meeting in Budapest on 30 June, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.

“The two parties discussed the situation in the region, the interaction between the countries of Central and Eastern Europe in the face of the European crisis, and agreed on the approaches to enhance bilateral political dialogue, including in the context of the upcoming chairmanship of Belarus in the Central European Initiative in 2017,” the press service informed.

Economic cooperation and the EU-Belarus dialogue were also on the agenda.

On the same day, Belarusian and Hungarian delegation headed by Alena Kupchyna and Deputy State Secretary of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade Zsolt Csutora conducted another round of ministerial consultations to review a whole spectrum of Belarusian-Hungarian political cooperation. The parties discussed ties in cultural, educational and humanitarian areas, bilateral legal framework, the Belarus-EU dialogue, and the ways to intensify contacts in international and regional organizations.

The diplomats devoted considerable attention to the possible implementation of joint trade and economic and investment projects. They also agreed to hold joint events to mark the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Belarus and Hungary in 2017.
