MINSK, 17 November (BelTA) – The Honorary Consulate of Belarus has opened in the Indonesian city of Surabaya, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Indonesia Vladimir Lopato-Zagorsky attended the ceremony as part of his working visit to Indonesia's East Java Province on 16 to 17 November. The diplomat met with local businessmen and visited the headquarters of Jawa Pos, one of the largest media companies in the country.
The press service added that Vladimir Lopato-Zagorsky held negotiations at the Indonesian Agriculture Ministry on 17 November. The agenda of the meeting included matters of Belarus-Indonesia cooperation in agriculture and food production, including implementation of the agreements signed during the fifth session of the joint commission for trade, economic, scientific, and technical cooperation held in Minsk in June 2015. Besides, the parties discussed the possibility of organizing a visit of a delegation from the Indonesian Agriculture Ministry to Belarusian dairy plants.
