Belarus’ healthcare development strategy through 2040 drafted

MINSK, 11 December (BelTA) – The Belarusian National Research Center of Medical Technologies, Informatization, Administration and Management of Health jointly with the Healthcare Ministry of Belarus have drafted Belarus’ healthcare development strategy through 2040, BelTA learned from the website of the Belarusian Healthcare Ministry.

The strategy is designed to take a comprehensive approach, based on scientifically sound proposals, to solving the problems and promoting the implementation of a unified state policy aimed at preserving and strengthening health and improving the quality of life of citizens.

The goal of the strategy, which is to improve the efficiency of the health system, will be achieved by enhancing the quality and availability of medical care, making effective use of the financial, material and human resources of the industry. The strategy is also aimed strengthening the preventive focus of healthcare with broad involvement of the population and public organizations in the promotion of a healthy lifestyle.

Among the priority areas is also to create an innovative model of medical science, to develop the pharmaceutical industry and improve the medicine circulation system.

The strategy will be implemented in three stages: through 2020, 2030 and 2040.

Belarus’ draft healthcare development strategy through 2040 will be discussed at the II Congress of Scientists of Belarus which is due to take place in Minsk on 12-13 December.
