Belarus government sets goals for export to China till 2020

MINSK, 16 May (BelTA) – The Council of Ministers of Belarus has passed a resolution to stipulate how much merchandise and services Belarusian companies and organizations are supposed to export to China in 2017-2020, the press service of the Belarus government told BelTA.

The document stipulates that the fulfillment of annual tasks with regard to the export of merchandise and services to China in 2017-2020 will be used to judge the performance of heads of central government agencies, other organizations accountable to the central government, the oblast administrations, and the Minsk City Executive Committee. Belarus’ export of merchandise and services to China is expected to reach $653 million in 2017, $806.6 million in 2018, $1,060.1 million in 2019, and $1.5 billion in 2020.

Heads of central government agencies, other organizations accountable to the central government, the oblast administrations, and the Minsk City Executive Committee will have to put specific people in charge of seeing to the fulfillment of these tasks. Specialists will be selected to keep in touch with the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the embassy of Belarus in China, and Belarusian exporters in matters concerning the fulfillment of the export goals. Reports on exporting merchandise and services to China will have to be sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will have to work with the individuals in charge of overseeing export to China as well as the central government agencies, other organizations accountable to the central government, the oblast administrations, and the Minsk City Executive Committee for the sake of monitoring the efforts and discussing results. The Council of Ministers expects to receive reports about the fulfillment of the tasks by 1 January and by 1 July every year.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been entrusted with overseeing the fulfillment of the resolution.

The Council of Ministers resolution comes into force as of the publication date.
