Belarus, Germany discuss bilateral relations, dialogue with EU

MINSK, 23 November (BelTA) – Belarus and Germany have discussed the state and prospects of bilateral cooperation and dialogue between Belarus and the European Union. The matter was top on the agenda during the meeting of Belarus’ Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Oleg Kravchenko with Director for Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia of the Federal Foreign Office of Germany Michael Siebert on 23 November, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“The parties have discussed the state and prospects of bilateral cooperation across various areas and the dialogue between Belarus and the EU, as well as progress in implementing the agreements reached at the highest level. They also exchanged views on the international agenda,” the press service noted.

Michael Siebert is on a visit to Belarus to participate in the 16th Minsk Forum.

The 16th Minsk Forum is taking place on 22-24 November. The forum was organized by the German-Belarusian Society. This year the forum will highlight the theme “Belarus and the EU – the Future of Partnership: Dialogue, Development, Digitalization”. Experts will discuss security architecture in Europe, regional cooperation and conflict resolution in Central and Eastern Europe, as well as Belarus’ national branding in Europe and other matters.
