Belarus, Germany agree to build up cooperation

MINSK, 18 November (BelTA) – Belarus and Germany will step up efforts to enhance cooperation. The corresponding agreements were reached during the visit of Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei to Germany, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The visit took place on 17-18 November upon the invitation of the German side.

The Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs met with German Minister of Foreign Affairs Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Foreign Policy and Security Advisor to the Federal Chancellor Christoph Heusgen, Head of the German-Belarusian Parliamentary Friendship Group at Germany’s Bundestag Oliver Kaczmarek, the members of this group, and the representatives of the expert community.

The meetings and negotiations focused on a wide range of issues on the bilateral agenda, the development of the dialogue between Belarus and the European Union, Belarus’ participation in Eurasian integration processes, cooperation with Germany in international organizations, especially in the context of Germany’ 2016 OSCE Presidency, urgent issues of international politics.

A number of concrete agreements aimed at building up Belarus-Germany cooperation were reached during the visit.
