Belarus, Georgia MPs urged to make an influence on bilateral economic contacts

MINSK, 26 May (BelTA) – MPs of Belarus and Georgia can make a significant influence on the development of bilateral economic contacts, Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Viktor Guminsky said as he met with Chairman of the Georgian Parliament of David Usupashvili, BelTA learned from the press service of the House of Representatives.

The Vice Speaker said that together the Georgian and Belarusian MPs can provide a meaningful assistance to the efforts to expand bilateral trade, economic, investment, scientific and technological, and cultural relations. The parties agreed on the need to do more promote the implementation of the agreements which were reached during the exchange of visits at the highest and high levels.

David Usupashvili drew the attention to the prospects for the development of inter-parliamentary dialogue, both on a bilateral track and in international organizations. In general, the parties discussed the need to pursue a consistent policy in the development of relations between the parliaments of the two countries.

Viktor Guminsky also met with the leader of the parliamentary friendship group Georgia-Belarus Alexander Kantaria. The Vice Speaker expressed satisfaction with the current dialogue and said that holding regular meetings between the parliamentary friendship groups creates additional conditions for the development of the entire range of Belarus-Georgian relations.

Viktor Guminsky is in Tbilisi on the occasion of the celebrations marking the 25th anniversary of the independence of Georgia.
