Belarus, Geneva Center for Security Policy discuss cooperation in security

MINSK, 28 February (BelTA) - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yuri Ambrazevich met with Director of the Geneva Center for Security Policy (GCSP) Thomas Greminger, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The parties discussed a number of topical issues of regional and global security. Yuri Ambrazevich presented Belarus’ general approaches and initiatives aimed at faster resolution of the complex crisis in the field of international security and the international multilateral system.

Yuri Ambrazevich briefed the Swiss side on the main agenda of the Republic of Belarus in the field of ensuring regional European security, the priorities of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) during Belarus’ presidency of in 2023.

The parties also exchanged views on the role of the Republic of Belarus and the Swiss Confederation in promoting peace initiatives in international organizations in Geneva, discussed areas of possible cooperation with the GCSP in this matter.

The meeting was held as part of Yuri Ambrazevich’s visit to Geneva to participate in the UN high-level events.
