MINSK, 13 December (BelTA) – Belarus has formalized its updated national military policy. This is stipulated in Law No. 111-Z “On amendments to laws on ensuring military security and defense”, dated 9 December 2025, which has been officially published on the national legal internet portal, BelTA has learned.

Amendments have been introduced to three laws (“On defense”, “On the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus”, and “On martial law”) to bring their provisions into line with the updated Military Doctrine of Belarus.

The document adjusts several articles of the laws. For example, Article 3 of the law “On the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus”, which defines the tasks of the Armed Forces, has been revised.

Corrections have also been made to Article 4 of the law “On martial law”. The law now specifies circumstances that constitute an attack on Belarus, namely: “an act of armed aggression by any state or coalition of states committed against the Union State [of Belarus and Russia] or a member state of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.”

The law enters into force upon its official publication.
