MINSK, 10 June (BelTA) – Belarus and the IOM have discussed cooperation in combating human trafficking and illegal migration. The discussion took place during a meeting between Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Igor Sekreta and Representative of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to Belarus Mahym Orazmuhammedova on the occasion of the completion of her diplomatic mission in the country, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The parties discussed the results of cooperation the Belarus government and the IOM office achieved in 2020-2026 when Mahym Orazmuhammedova headed the mission.
“Special attention was paid to matters of interaction in combating human trafficking and illegal migration, regulating external labor migration, and securing funding for IOM project activities in Belarus,” the press service of the ministry noted.
The deputy minister thanked Mahym Orazmuhammedova for the work done and wished her a successful continuation of her career.
In turn, the IOM representative expressed gratitude to the Belarusian side for the support and efficient organization of cooperation.
