Belarus expects solid OSCE support for Minsk talks on Ukraine

MINSK, 9 July (BelTA) – Belarus expects the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) to provide consolidated support for Minsk talks on Ukraine, BelTA learned from Dmitry Mironchik, Head of the Information Office, Press Secretary of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on 9 July.

The Press Secretary of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: “We expect the entire OSCE community to provide consolidated support for the peace process and the work done on the Minsk platform within the framework of the trilateral contact group and its subgroups.”

Belarus expects that the forthcoming informal top-level meeting in the OSCE will give an opportunity to discuss overdue issues concerning the OSCE reformation and the organization’s adaptation to modern tasks with focus on conflict prevention. Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alena Kupchyna will represent Belarus during the meeting.

“We also expect intensive discussions about the resolution of the crisis in Ukraine, which has become the catalyst of the tensions that Europe has not seen in decades,” noted the Press Secretary of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
