Belarus expects high-level visits from Serbia in 2015

MINSK, 12 March (BelTA) – Belarus expects a number of high-level visits from Serbia in 2015, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Serbia to Belarus Veljko Kovacevic told journalists on 12 March, BelTA has learned.

Belarus and Serbia have developed strong political ties, the Ambassador said. This can be proved by the fact that the mutual exchange of high-level delegations has intensified in recent years. The diplomat pointed out the importance of the meetings held between the leaders of Belarus and Serbia and the agreements that were reached. The high-level meetings resulted in a number of bilateral agreements that attest the willingness of the states to continue developing cooperation in all fields.

Veljko Kovacevic believes that the recent session of the Belarus-Serbia intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation and the negotiations held within the framework of the Belarus-Serbia ministerial consultations also brought important results.

The head of the Serbian diplomatic mission noted that the two countries have not used the potential of economic and cultural cooperation to the full. Meanwhile, cultural ties play a very important role in the development of bilateral cooperation.

“The most important thing is that we have created an atmosphere of mutual understanding that encourages our states and people to strengthen ties,” Veljko Kovacevic believes. He expressed confidence that Belarus and Serbia have good cooperation prospects in all fields.
