MINSK, 15 January (BelTA) – Belarus and Estonia plan to build up the legal base of the bilateral relations, representatives of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry told BelTA.
Another round of consultations between the ministries of foreign affairs of Belarus and Estonia took place in Tallinn. The Belarusian delegation was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Yelena Kupchina. The Estonian delegation was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Kullike Sillaste-Elling.
The sides discussed a wide range of matters concerning bilateral cooperation, including political, trade, economic and humanitarian components. The sides confirmed their mutual interest in expanding the legal base of the bilateral cooperation.
The sides shared views on the development of relations between Belarus and the European Union, including in the Northern Europe region.
Apart from that, the Estonian side was informed about integration processes within the framework of the Customs Union and the Single Economic Space.
Belarusian Deputy Foreign Minister Yelena Kupchina met with Vice Speaker of the Estonian parliament Juri Ratas and Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Commission Marko Mihkelson. The sides discussed interparliamentary interaction and the advancement of the political dialogue between Belarus and Estonia. It was noted that it is important for parliamentarians to participate in the development of economic cooperation between countries.
While in Tallinn the Belarusian delegation visited the Estonian Center of Eastern Partnership (ECEAP). The Center is used to organize educational seminars and carry out research into the Eastern Partnership Initiative project.
