MINSK, 21 November (BelTA) – The Belarusian embassy will open in Ecuador in 2014. The decision was formalized by Council of Ministers’ Resolution No.990 as of 19 November, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian Government.
The Council of Ministers instructed the Finance Ministry to finance the opening and operation of the Belarusian embassy in Ecuador at the amount earmarked for the Foreign Ministry for opening and operation of diplomatic missions of Belarus abroad.
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko met with his Ecuadorian counterpart Rafael Correa Delgado in Minsk at the end of October 2013. The presidents agreed on opening the embassies in Quito and Minsk. At present diplomatic contacts are maintained via the ambassadors on concurrent accredited in Caracas and Moscow.
