MINSK, 7 October (BelTA) – Belarus’ Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko outlined the key goals for 2023 as he briefed representatives of the military, security and law enforcement on the military, political, social and economic situation in Minsk on 7 October, BelTA has learned.

The government is completing the work on the forecast documents for 2023. "The main goals are to ramp up industrial output, increase exports and to ensure investment development. In particular, the government is planning long-term infrastructure projects for Br8 billion: schools, hospitals, gyms, roads, etc. Investment projects will be implemented on the instructions of the head of state as part of the One district - one project program: 129 production projects worth more than Br4 billion. In addition, we are planning more than 50 import-substituting projects to the tune of more than Br5 billion," Roman Golovchenko noted.

According to him, the Belarusian economy withstood the sanctions blow and switched to the mobilization mode. The opponents have not achieved their goal. Yet, a lot of difficult work is still ahead. "Obviously, the pressure will be increasing. The West is discouraged that the measures against either Russia or Belarus have not led to the result they intended. The West has exhausted the serious sanctions potential in principle. Of course, there are also internal difficulties. These include  inflation, a slight decrease in the level of real incomes of households, still relatively high interest rates on loans and so on. But we can also view this as a price to pay for independence," the prime minister said.
